  • Renovate 140 year old train station “roof shed” including:
      • removal of lead paint & asbestos from “roof shed” structure
      • repair of supporting “roof shed” structure
      • removal of existing roof cover
      • extend roof structure
      • installation of new roof cover
  • Coordinate “roof shed” activities with demolition and reconfiguration work on train deck below
  • Work around operating railway systems
  • Risk of liquidated damages of £100,000 per day
  • Difficult schedule and logistics

Results:

  • Roof shed team turned 8 week delay into completing work 1 week ahead of schedule, with no additional costs
  • Avoided schedule delays despite 9% increase to work scope
